Maple Awake by Alice Doray - Page 11 and 12
Mr. Mockingbird chirped first,
"Time to come, robins come fast!"
He sang the message to the cardinals, he screeched
the word to all the blue jays.
He whistled, "Come now, come!" to the
warblers and kinglets.
Birds from everywhere flew
to the maple tree to
carry out their plan.
